Bob White Appointed Vice Chair of AILA DOL Liaison Committee

Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd. is pleased to announce that Bob White has been appointed Vice Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Department of Labor (DOL) Liaison Committee. As one of AILA’s most active committees, it meets with the DOL Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC), the DOL Wage and Hour Division (WHD), the DOL Board of Alien Employment Certification (BALCA) and other stakeholder groups to discuss policy issues and trends related to temporary (H-2A, H-2B and CW-1) labor certification applications, permanent labor certification applications as part of the green card process (PERM), labor condition applications (LCAs) in the H-1B program, prevailing wages, LCA investigations and other issues. The committee also prepares practice pointers, tracks trends based on AILA member experiences, provides comments to proposed regulations, and tracks issues in the PERM and FLAG systems.

Bob’s appointment to Vice Chair and previous eight years of experience on the AILA DOL Committee enables him to contribute a wealth of industry knowledge and assist with implementing the committee’s strategic plans. Bob’s focus as Vice Chair will be on PERM and LCA issues, including PERM implementation, PERM audits, BALCA appeals, prevailing wage issues and WHD LCA investigations.

Bob is a Principal of Masuda Funai’s Immigration Practice Group with more than 28 years of experience and is a frequent speaker on business immigration issues. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, Illinois Super Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal and Leading Lawyers. Bob is also a member of the leadership team of the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers (NAFSA): Association of International Educators’ Region V.
