Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, Ltd. represented Toshiba Machine Co., America in the negotiation of a 60,000 square foot lease for its new U.S. headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Illinois (in proximity to O’Hare International Airport). The facility will house Toshiba’s plastic-injection molding and machine-tool divisions.
Toshiba Machine Co., America was represented by Keith Groebe and Austin Redman of Masuda Funai’s Real Estate Practice Group.
Due to intense competition for the building, the landlord had stipulated that the first entity to negotiate a final lease would be given preference. In typical Masuda Funai style, Keith and Austin hit the ground running late on a Friday afternoon and worked all weekend to ensure Toshiba Machine Co., America secured the lease. The process was aided by standing relationships with the brokers and the landlord’s attorney, and familiarity with the facility. Said Groebe, “Nobody enjoys working an entire weekend, but our philosophy is to do whatever it takes to attain our clients’ objectives.”
